by SP Singh 05 Oct 2019

Choosing the right surfing suit when you hit the waves can make a big difference. There are several important criteria to consider when choosing the right equipment for your suit. This is a guide on styles, sizes, thickness, and accessories for comfortable surfing. Here are the options for your next surfing suit purchase. Choose a surfing wetsuit that fits you and makes you feel comfortable depending on the temperature of the water you want to buy wetsuits.

Types of surfing wetsuits

The Spring Wetsuit

This is a suit that covers half legs and full or half hands. It is used in spring and summer when the water temperature is not so low, but a layer between the body and the water is still needed.

LAYATONE Mens 3mm Shorty Surfing Wetsuit

The Short Arm Steamer Wetsuit

It is designed to keep you warm and covers your trunk, legs and upper arms, leaving your forearms exposed.

The Short John / Jane Wetsuit

This is the most basic type of surfing wetsuit available on the market with a sleeveless design. Your torso down to your thighs is covered to provide core warmth. It is ideal for surfing in spring and summer, since it would not make you feel too hot as the temperature increases.

The Long John / Jane Wetsuit

It offers full-body coverage, except arms that remain exposed. This makes it easy to put on and is ideal when the water temperature is a little cold, but the air temperature is higher.

The Wetsuit Vest

This is simple protection designed for the upper body, providing little coverage but protection from cold winds. A wetsuit vest is ideal for surfing in the summer.

The Wetsuit Jacket

It is designed to provide extra warmth to the upper body and is usually fitted with a zipper. These jackets have full shoulder coverage, and you will be more protected against wind. It is ideal for hot and windy areas.

The Full Wetsuit

As the name suggests, this surf wetsuit covers the whole body and is one of the most popular types. It is commonly used in colder water. You can choose the thickness of the suit, depending on the temperature of the water.
